Our staff is handpicked by many qualities; first by checking their references from past employers. We feel it is important and it is best we know their job behaviors and attendance right up front. We also do background checks and drug testing on all new employees, as well as random drug screenings after they are a part of our staff.
Our training program consists of a training video that goes over our cleaning methods and the dos and don’ts while in a client’s home. On-the-job training is performed by our trainer Michele, who is a seasoned employee that have been with us for 15 years with an exceptional customer satisfaction record.
We have recently added a behavioral test that will tell us many things about a prospective employee that we might not get from their past employer, and most importantly a background check provided by Orion Systems where they check federal, state and county databases. The Orion Opinion Survey provides accurate, valid and illuminating insight, free from adverse impact. It examines job-related attitudes your applicants will bring with them to the work environment including attitudes toward work, supervision, drug use, theft, customer service and safety.
Most of our employees have been with us for many years. We understand the value in good employees, and feel it’s important to treat them just as we would want to be treated if we were in their shoes.
Our management team is very particular. We expect things to be done correctly the first time. We expect so much of our staff that we have them clean our own homes regularly. This ensures that their skills and abilities are always up to par.
Our cleaners are men and women of various races, as we are an equal opportunity employer.
Our CEO, Peter Chakonas
Peter N. Chakonas, CEO, founded Pride Klean in 1999 with the simple concept of providing quality detailed cleaning at an affordable price. Through hard work and word-of-mouth referrals Pride Klean is now a professional corporation which serves a growing list of residential and commercial customers throughout Delaware, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
Peter is a Delaware native, born and raised in the Wilmington area. He started cleaning as a live-in housekeeper over 25 years ago for a professional woman who was particular in her needs and wants. She just wanted things done right. One time she pointed out things that were missed. She said “I can give my house a lick and a promise, I want more from you.” She gave a lot of advice that Pride Klean uses today with it team, a focus on quality and detail, which are the core values of Pride Klean.
Peter feels it is important to give back to the community in as many ways as possible. Pride Klean participates in two cleaning charitable organizations. The first is Cleaning Angles USA“We clean for those who can’t.“ in which Pride Klean provides free cleanings to those who can’t clean. The Second, Cleaning for a Reason in which Pride Klean provides free cleaning for women with cancer.
Peter is a founding charter member of the Association of Residential Cleaning Services International and sat on the Board of Directors of ARCSI from 2010 to 2012. Presently Peter serves as the President the Board of directors of Cleaning Angles USA. He also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Delaware HIV Consortium.
In my free time I love the outdoors and I write a Colum for the ARCSI Cleaning Connection. But most of all I am a pet lover something I instill in my team. I ask my team to go above and behind for your pets by letting them out and making them happy.
Lastly my core values are what my mother instilled in me. To be honest and truthful person and to always be a man of my word. She worked two jobs to take care of my sisters and I. So working is not something I am afraid of or getting my hand dirty as I will pitch in and help my teams out from time to time. “House Cleaning is in my blood.”
